Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Staff Accountant in Ottawa to support month-end close, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, and produce monthly reports aligned with budgets for select areas. The role requires strong Excel skills, organizational ability, and the capacity to work independently within a dynamic environment.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 2–5 years of related experience in a medium to large company, with knowledge of Infor/Syteline,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 2-5 years related business experience in a medium to large company.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Infor/Syteline preferred; NetSuite and Salesforce a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists with month-end close processes.
• Prepares accrual and adjusting journal entries (JE) as required.
• Prepares account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Prepares and analyzes supporting schedules for reconciliations.
• Prepares monthly departmental reporting vs. budget for select functional areas.
• Provides back-up support for JE approval from Treasury and other areas.
• Maintains Fixed Assets in BNA (FA software) and supports Senior Accountant.
• Supports Accounting Manager and internal/external reporting.
• Responds to general accounting inquiries (year-end audits, etc.).
• Maintains department process documentation and improves workflows.
• Prepares ad hoc reports and analyses for management.
• Partners with business leaders to deliver services aligned with company objectives.
