Job summary

Rocky View Schools (RVS) invites applications for a temporary full-time Learning Assistant at Nose Creek Elementary School in Airdrie, from September 14, 2026 to November 6, 2026. The role supports students with diverse needs under the guidance of teachers and the principal.

The Learning Assistant collaborates to adapt programs for students with complex needs, focusing on health, learning and independence, in a dynamic classroom setting.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate or related diploma required.
• Experience with students with challenging behavior is an asset.
• CPR/First Aid certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to students as identified in individualized plans including personal, medical care, lifts, transfers and safety needs.
• Implements and reinforces strategies as directed by the teacher, as identified in student plans.
• Records observations and collects data on behavioral challenges to guide positive behavior strategies.
• Participates in collaborative planning meetings for student planning as requested.
• Provides assistance with preparation of individualized program materials under the teacher’s direction.
• Promotes student learning, belonging and independence.
• Assists with emotional and behavioral regulation per student plans.
• Respects confidentiality and privacy of students and personnel.
• Supports routine personal care activities and daily living tasks as required.
• Assists in exercising, adaptive physical education and motor skills development as directed.
