Job summary

Mercor is hiring experienced Musicians to evaluate generative musical AI models in partnership with a leading AI lab. You will assess model outputs across categories of music in your bilingual language and provide detailed annotations to guide model improvements.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years as music producer, audio engineer, or sound mixer, with a college degree in music and fluency in Telugu and English.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as music producer, audio engineer, and/or sound mixer.
• Understanding of musical performance, theory, and lyrics.
• College degree in music encompassing performance, theory, and lyrics.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Telugu and English.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI model output lyrics, voice generation, and other standards.
• Score quality of musical training data.
• Annotate songs in detail: genre/sub-genre classification, song structure, vocal/instrumental characteristics via a structured taxonomy.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI model output lyrics, voice generation, and other standards
• Score quality of musical training data
• Experience writing music in the domain language listed in the title
• Able to understand directions in English language
• Rate AI-generated music samples head-to-head on musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, vocal quality, and production/mix quality, using audio-engineering terminology
• Annotate songs in detail: genre/sub-genre classification, song structure, vocal/instrumental characteristics via a structured taxonomy

Ideal Qualifications

• Experience working as a music producer, audio engineer, and/or sound mixer for at least 3+ years
• Evidence of understanding musical performance, theory, and lyrics
• College degree in music, involving both performance, theory, and lyrics
• Past experience writing lyrical music in the domain language listed in the title
• Native or near-native proficiency in both Telugu and English

Project Timeline

• Duration: Up to 6 months
• Commitment: Part-time, 10+ hours per week
