The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Information and Communication Technology, the Telecommunications Operator ensures all calls received through IWK Health’s voice communications systems are processed promptly, efficiently, and courteously according to policy.

Hours of Work

Varied shifts based on 24-hour department coverage. Must be available for all shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Schedules are subject to change based on operational needs.

Your Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred
• Experience in customer service or call centre roles required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs/technology
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required
• Keyboarding skills, minimum of 40 wpm required; 60 wpm preferred
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills required
• Ability to work respectfully with inter-professional team members required
• High initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline required
• Commitment to continual learning and supporting co-worker development
• Demonstrated commitment to Family Centred Care required
• Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills required
• Knowledge of other languages is an asset
