Job summary

Seguin Morris Inc. is building a new Telecommunications Division in Atlantic Canada and seeks a Telecommunications Foreman to lead field crews across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

The role entails overseeing tower construction, rooftop installations and equipment upgrades while ensuring safety and quality across projects. You will mentor technicians, coordinate daily activities, and collaborate with Project Managers and clients to meet schedules and deliverables.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of telecommunications tower construction and infrastructure experience.
  • Strong leadership and ability to coordinate field crews.
  • Experience with tower climbing, rigging and telecom installations (5G, rooftop, battery, coaxial, fibre).
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and mentor field crews on active sites.

Build and Lead a New Telecommunications Team in Atlantic Canada

As our Telecommunications Division continues to expand into Atlantic Canada, we are building a brand-new field team and are looking for an experienced Telecommunications Foreman to play a key leadership role in this exciting growth.

This is a unique opportunity to help establish our operations in the region, build a high-performing crew, and lead challenging telecommunications projects from the ground up.

About the Opportunity

As Telecommunications Foreman, you will lead a team of tower technicians and riggers on a variety of telecommunications infrastructure projects throughout Atlantic Canada, including:

  • New telecommunications tower construction
  • Rooftop telecommunications installations
  • Equipment modernization
  • Battery replacement projects
  • General telecommunications infrastructure construction and maintenance

Seguin Morris is already actively performing work inNova Scotia and New Brunswick, with additional projects continuing to be awarded.

While this position is being recruited out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, the operational base may ultimately be established in either Nova Scotia or New Brunswick, depending on project requirements and crew location. Travel throughout Atlantic Canada is expected.

Position Summary

The Telecommunications Foreman is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising daily field operations while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong technical background in telecommunications infrastructure. The successful candidate will work alongside the crew, provide technical guidance, mentor team members, coordinate daily activities, and maintain strong communication with Project Managers and clients.

In addition to leading field operations, this individual will play an important role in helping build and develop a new telecommunications team as Seguin Morris continues its expansion throughout Atlantic Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise and mentor telecommunications field crews on active project sites
  • Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure crews remain productive and efficient
  • Perform and oversee tower climbing, rigging, installation, maintenance and upgrade activities
  • Execute telecommunications infrastructure work safely while maintaining high quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, provincial regulations and client requirements
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks, hazard assessments and safety meetings
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials and subcontractors when required
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, rigging plans and technical documentation
  • Monitor project progress and ensure schedules and deliverables are met
  • Identify field issues and implement practical solutions with minimal disruption
  • Mentor, coach and develop junior tower technicians and riggers
  • Complete daily reports, field documentation and project updates
  • Inspect climbing, rigging and fall protection equipment prior to use
  • Maintain effective communication with Project Managers, clients and internal stakeholders
Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of telecommunications tower construction and infrastructure experience
  • Previous experience as a Telecommunications Foreman, Lead Hand or Senior Tower Technician
  • Extensive experience climbing telecommunications towers
  • Strong rigging knowledge and practical experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading and coordinating field crews
  • Experience with:
    • 5G infrastructure upgrades
    • New tower construction
    • Tower reinforcement projects
    • Rooftop telecommunications installations
    • Coaxial, fibre optic and DC power systems
    • Battery replacement and telecom shelter installations (asset)
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices in telecommunications construction
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
  • Willingness to travel throughout Atlantic Canada as required
  • Valid driver\'s licence with a clean driving record
