ELITS is looking for a dedicated Telecom Network Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and implementation of advanced wireless and fiber networks, ensuring seamless connectivity for our clients. The role requires travel to customer sites; therefore, a valid driver’s license and willingness to drive are essential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage operation, maintenance, and provisioning of wireless and fiber network elements, including equipment from Fujitsu, Ciena, Alcatel, DACS Nodes, and Comverse Voice Mail.
  2. Install equipment, wiring, testing, acceptance, and commissioning of circuits at customer facilities.
  3. Plan and execute work orders related to UMTS, GSM, LTE, 5G, Gateway Switches, Data, Voice Mail, Transport Facilities, and Optical Equipment on live networks.
  4. Ensure all administrative tasks, such as trouble tickets, outage reports, and work orders, are completed accurately.
  5. Maintain a holistic understanding of the entire network, including SS7 signaling, voice and data platforms, PSTN interconnects, SONET, TCP/IP, and traffic routing.
  6. Coordinate with customers, telcos, vendors, and internal departments.
  7. Supervise contractor resources at customer facilities.
  8. Collaborate with field technicians and third-party carriers during outages and network implementations.
  9. Continuously learn about new equipment to support project completion and service maintenance.
  10. Participate in performance improvement initiatives based on team performance data.
  11. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience in telecommunications.
  2. Experience with SS7, IP, Fujitsu Fiber Nodes, Ciena, Alcatel MUXs, LTE, GSM, UMTS, GPRS, 5G from Ericsson.
  3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, IP and serial communications applications, UNIX, and scripting skills.
  4. Cisco CCNA certification is a plus.
  5. Technical diploma or degree, such as DEC, AEC, or equivalent experience.
  6. Excellent communication skills in English and French, along with leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  8. Availability for on-call rotations and flexible hours, including nights.
  9. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and project manage network implementations.
  10. Ability to work under pressure to resolve critical outages promptly.
