Job summary

CIMA+ is hiring a Telecom Engineer to design and deliver mission-critical telecommunications systems for utility, industrial and public-sector clients across Canada. The role covers system architecture, detailed designs, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable, scalable telecom solutions.

The position supports hybrid work from Western Canada offices (Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton) and involves field work, procurement input and project coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent.
• Registered as, or eligible for registration as, a P.Eng. with the provincial regulator.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in design/implementation of wired/wireless telecom systems.
• Experience with networks supporting critical applications across OSI layers 1–4.
• Strong communication, organization and client-facing skills.
• Integrity and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop telecom system designs and engineering deliverables under senior staff guidance.
• Create network architectures, schematics, diagrams and design drawings.
• Prepare technical specs, design reports, BOMs and testing procedures.
• Support scope, proposals, estimates, schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate interfaces with clients, vendors and other engineering disciplines.
• Support equipment evaluation, procurement, FAT/SAT, installation and commissioning.
• Travel to project sites to support field activities and issue resolution.
• Document project closeout information and maintain records.
• Contribute to design reviews and develop technical leadership within the team.
