Job summary

Toromont Cat in Winnipeg is seeking a part-time Technology Technician to install and support Product Link Technology and field equipment in EM Services. You will perform field installations, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime, with after-hours rotations and travel across Eastern Canada.

The role requires post-secondary education, strong safety focus, and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Post Secondary Education required or equivalent experience.
• Strong safety awareness and troubleshooting of electrical/electronic systems.
• Customer-centric with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical with strong relationship management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe work practices and support Health and Safety initiatives.
• Schedule and perform Product Link installations and troubleshooting in the field.
• Perform repairs to minimize downtime and reduce costs.
• Complete service reports and work orders with accuracy.
• Complete before-failure service letters and equipment inspections.
• Obtain SOS samples as needed.
• Willing to travel weekly to assigned territories and perform after-hours rotations.

Job description

Toromont Cat is looking for a Technology Technician (Part time) to join our Winnipeg Mine! The Technology Technician is responsible for the installation and support for Product Link Technology and other equipment support in field EM Services as required.

Position Status: Part Time - Permanent
Work Shift: 2 Days per week

Pay Type: Full Time, Permanent

Compensation: $ 35.00

In a typical day, YOU will:

• Demonstrate safe work and environmentally sound behaviors at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives.
• Schedule and perform Product Link installations and troubleshooting in the field
• Conduct repairs to minimize downtime and reduce cost
• Complete service reports and work order details
• Complete before failure Service Letters
• Obtain SOS Samples
• Complete equipment inspections as required
• Perform Maintenance Inspections
• Perform after hours/on-call/overnight rotations and travel to assigned territories weekly

Must-haves for this role:

• Post Secondary Education (A Licensed Heavy Equipment Technician would be an asset)
• Highly safety conscious with solid experience with electrical and electronic troubleshooting
• Customer centric with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and analytical with excellent relationship management
• Effective time-management and planning with the ability to quickly adapt to multiple and often changing schedules and priorities
• Organized with the ability to maintain a high level of customer service in a fast paced, deadline driven work force
• Positive team player and proactive in delivering solutions with a sense of urgency
• Process improvement mindset with strong problem solving abilities
• Self-motivated with strong initiative, high integrity and the ability to make independent decisions
• Well-developed computer skills and familiarity with Cat Systems would be an asset
• Willing and able to work flexible hours and travel extensively in support of business requirements
• A valid Driver's License and clean Driver's Abstract
