Our success is attributed to our innovative product, commitment to our people, and the incredible connections we make in every community. We focus on creating positive change to build a healthier, thriving future, including an equitable, inclusive, and growth-focused environment.

A Day in the Life

As the Director of Front-End Experiences, you’ll lead the development and optimization of a world-class user experience for millions of online guests. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX design, and back-end development, to ensure seamless integration and alignment with business goals. You’ll oversee the performance of your team, focusing on building scalable, responsive, and high-performance user interfaces that deliver exceptional digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Set the vision for front-end development, ensuring alignment with product and design teams, broader business goals, and the eCommerce growth strategy.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation in front-end development tools, processes, and user experiences.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Provide engineering metrics (DORA, performance, capacity, etc.) to inform decision-making and strategic plans. Ensure reporting accurately reflects the state of delivery and escalations brought to senior leadership.
  • Governance & Standards: Ensure adherence to coding standards, design principles, accessibility, and security best practices, maintaining consistency and quality across the front-end codebase.
  • Team Management: Lead a team of front-end engineers and managers, providing mentorship, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
    • 10+ years of experience in front-end development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing front-end engineering teams.
    • Proven experience working on large-scale, customer-facing eCommerce websites.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Deep expertise in front-end technologies and modern front-end build tools (Webpack, Module Federation, etc.).
    • Knowledge of API integration (RESTful, GraphQL) and working with headless CMS platforms.
    • Strong understanding of responsive design, mobile-first development, and progressive enhancement techniques.
    • Experience with performance optimization techniques like lazy loading, minification, and caching strategies.
    • Familiarity with A/B testing and data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Proven ability to set strategic direction, manage cross-functional teams, and deliver high-quality digital experiences.
  • Demonstrated success in driving collaboration between development, product, UX, and design teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize competing projects in a fast-paced environment.

Must Haves

  • Acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for your life.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovate to achieve great results.
  • Communicate with honesty and kindness and create the space for others to do the same.
  • Lead with courage, knowing the possibility of greatness is bigger than the fear of failure.
  • Foster connection by putting people first and building trusting relationships.
  • Integrate fun and joy as a way of being and working.
