Job Description

Under the supervision of the finance director, the Payroll Technician supports the payroll master in preparing payroll, especially during the system transition project, and handles various daily administrative tasks of the department. They ensure compliance with financial procedures, accuracy of payroll data, and adherence to deadlines.

This position is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Main Responsibilities

Payroll:

• Support the payroll master with the system transition project.
• Assist the payroll master with payroll production tasks.
• Maintain employee payroll data.
• Perform other related tasks supporting the department.

Finance and Accounting:

• Perform administrative tasks related to finance and payroll.
• Support the director in managing financial files.
• Draft and format administrative documents and financial reports.
• Process purchase orders.
• Digitize, photocopy, file, and archive financial and payroll documents.

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Has a college diploma (DEC) in Administrative Techniques, Accounting, or related field.
• Has experience and knowledge of payroll processing.
• Has at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Has excellent knowledge of payroll software (experience with ADP and/or Dayforce is an asset).
• Is fluent in French and English, both spoken and written.
• Is discreet and capable of maintaining confidentiality.
• Is quick to learn, rigorous, and organized.
• Has experience with collective agreements.
• Is proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook.
