Job summary

Yorkdale Volkswagen in Toronto is seeking an experienced Licensed Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles to brand standards. You will communicate findings, complete work efficiently, follow safety and warranty procedures, and support the Service Department in delivering outstanding customer experiences.

The role includes supervising apprentices, participating in ongoing training, and achieving brand certifications while upholding health and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Valid 310S Ontario License.
• Automotive dealer experience; Volkswagen experience an asset.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the role.
• Excellent teamwork and customer service skills.
• Able to operate manual and automatic transmissions.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles to brand and dealership standards.
• Communicate findings clearly and collaborate with Service Advisors and the Parts Department.
• Examine vehicles for additional repair or maintenance needs and recommend solutions to the Service Advisor or Shop Foreman.
• Document all work accurately and follow safety, warranty, and regulatory procedures.
• Road test vehicles as required to ensure repairs are complete.
• Supervise apprentices as assigned and participate in ongoing training and brand certifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper care of tools and vehicles.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies, including proper disposal of hazardous waste.
• Report machinery defects or malfunctions promptly to the Shop Foreman or Service Manager.
• Support the Service Department in delivering exceptional customer experience, ensuring all work is completed efficiently, accurately, and on time.
• Perform additional duties as requested by management to help the team succeed.

Job Summary

Hours

• Fast-paced and multi-tasking required.
