Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking an Evening Technician for the Napanee facility to handle, consolidate, and process hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. You will work safely in a team, operating processing equipment and assisting with loading/unloading trucks.

The role requires physical fitness, the ability to lift heavy loads, and strong communication skills. Valid driver’s license and plant experience are preferred; weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform moderately labor intensive and repetitious tasks.
• Physically fit with the ability to lift +50lbs and stand on cement for extended periods of time.
• Excellent communication skills; strong planning and organizational abilities.
• Experience operating loading/unloading trucks and containers; basic paperwork handling.

Responsibilities

• Process waste in a timely and safe manner.
• Assist with loading and unloading of trucks and containers.
• Clean emptied trucks, containers, and bulk storage tanks.
• Ensure incoming waste conforms with acceptance protocol.
• Operate processing machinery and equipment as required.
• Follow safe operation procedures at all times.
• Complete paperwork accurately and submit it on time.
• Conduct job hazard risk assessments.
• Promote a safety culture among all employees.
• Provide superior customer service.
• Perform general shop cleanup and maintenance.
• Be available to work weekends as needed.

GFL Environmental is looking for an evening Technician to join our growing liquid team out of our Napanee location. The Technician is responsible for the handling, consolidating and processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials received by the Processing Facilities. The Technician must display a focus on safety and efficiency in a team environment while performing moderately labor intensive and repetitious tasks.

Shift time : 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure waste is processed in a timely and safe manner
• Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks and containers
• Cleaning of emptied trucks, containers, and bulk storage tanks
• Ensure incoming waste conforms with acceptance protocol
• Operation of processing machinery and equipment as required
• Ensure safe operation and procedures are followed at all times
• Complete paperwork properly & ensure it is submitted
• Complete job hazard risk assessments
• Promote a safety culture with all employees
• Ensure superior customer service is provided
• General shop clean up and maintenance
• Available to work weekends as needed
• Other miscellaneous tasks as required

Requirements:
