GFL Environmental in Fort St. John is seeking a Facility Operator to manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste processing. The role emphasizes safety while performing physically demanding tasks outdoors, ensuring timely waste processing and compliance with safety protocols.
The ideal candidate will have experience with forklifts and loaders, a valid Class 5 Drivers License, and the ability to work independently and in teams. Competitive wages and comprehensive benefits are offered.
The Facility Operator is responsible for handling, consolidating, and processing hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials received by the processing facilities in an effort to recycle their key components. These items could include but are not limited to used oils, antifreeze, aerosols and filters. The Facility Operator will also be required to operate a forklift and skid steer loader as needed. The successful candidate must display a focus on safety and efficiency in a team environment while performing moderately labour intensive and repetitive tasks in an outdoor facility setting. This is a permanent full‑time position. The regular work schedule is 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Forklift, Loader and/or Skid Steer experience is a strong asset. Reliable transportation to get to the facility. Valid Class 5 Drivers License is preferred. Physically fit with the ability to lift +50lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
