Job summary

The Service Technician at Mercedes-Benz Boundary, part of the Dilawri Group of Companies, plays a key role delivering exceptional automotive service. Reporting to the Service Manager, this position performs vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines and dealership policies.

You will maintain accurate documentation, support productive service operations, and communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Automotive technician certification or enrollment in an apprenticeship program with Red Seal considered an asset.
• Experience performing automotive repairs and diagnostics in a dealer or independent shop.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and eligibility to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance according to repair orders and dealership standards.
• Road test vehicles before and after servicing to ensure repair quality and safety.
• Track time accurately at start of day, lunch, and job completion.
• Advise if repairs require more time than estimated.
• Notify advisor of additional repairs, parts, or labor needed.
• Document services clearly in work orders and maintain organization.

Position Overview

The Service Technician at Mercedes-Benz Boundary plays a key role in delivering exceptional automotive service and customersatisfaction. Reporting to the Service Manager, this position is responsiblefor performing vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance in accordance withmanufacturer guidelines, dealership policies, and warranty requirements.

The Service Technician contributes to the overall success ofthe service department by maintaining high productivity, ensuring accuratedocumentation, and supporting positive customer relationships through qualityworkmanship and timely communication.

The expectedpayfor this position is $55.72 per hour

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repairs and maintenanceaccording to repair orders, technical guidelines, and dealership standards.
• Road test all vehicles before and afterservicing to ensure repair accuracy and safety.
• Track time by punching in/out at the start ofthe day, lunch, end of day, and at the beginning and completion of each job.
• Advise the Service Advisor if repairs requiremore time than initially estimated.
• Utilize protective seat covers and floor mats inevery customer vehicle.
• Notify the Service Advisor of additionalrequired repairs, parts, or labor.
• Complete all assigned repair tasks efficientlyand accurately.
• Document all services and repairs clearly andthoroughly in work orders.
• Ensure all punch times accurately match the workperformed.
• Follow all manufacturer warranty procedures anddealership policies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
• Maintain high levels of productivity andefficiency through effective work practices.
• Demonstrate a polite, professional, and customer ‑ focusedattitude.
• Perform additional service recommendations asoutlined by dealership standards.
• Obtain Service Manager approval/signature forall warranty add-ons.
• Meet or exceed productivity and efficiencyobjectives set by the Service Manager.

Qualifications Required

• Automotive Technician certification orenrollment in an equivalent apprenticeship program (Red Seal an asset).
• Previous experience performing automotiverepairs and diagnostics in a dealership or independent shop environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding ofvehicle systems.
• Ability to read and interpret repair orders,technical bulletins, and manufacturer documentation.
• Excellent organizational and time ‑ managementskills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced,team-oriented environment.
• Effective communication and customer serviceskills.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
