Job summary

The Grounds Guys of Okanagan is seeking an Irrigation Technician to support our residential and commercial lawn care and landscaping services. You’ll work outdoors installing and maintaining sprinkler systems and contribute to exceptional customer service while growing with the team.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in the landscaping, lawn service, or similar service industries.
• 1 to 2 years of irrigation field experience.
• Willing to complete training to get all required certifications and licenses.
• Clean driving history with experience driving a trailer.

Responsibilities

• Install pipe, sprinkler heads, valves, wiring, controllers, and sensors on client properties.
• Operate basic equipment safely while performing outdoor irrigation work.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions; perform very physical tasks and lift 35–80 pounds often.
• Wrap up jobs and prepare for the next day to ensure smooth handoffs.

Your Responsibilities as an Irrigation Technician

• Front-Line Employee –
  • You are quite literally the boots on the ground. You’ll be a front-line employee who provides exceptional care of our customers’ properties.
  • The team looks to you to install pipe, heads, valves, wire, controller, and sensors. In addition, you must be able to operate basic equipment safely.
  • You must be able to work outdoors, in all weather conditions, doing very physical work, able to lift/carry 35-80 pounds often.
  • You ensure everything is wrapped up and set to go for the next day.

• Attendance: Might sound basic, but it’s critical for every member of the team to set an example on attendance.
• Budget vs Actual Hours: Keeping jobs profitable is dependent on managing the time planned and spent at each job.
• Return Rates: You’ll ensure quality control to make sure it’s rare to ever need to go back to redo a job.
• Customer Retention: Building great relationships with each customer, and ensuring that they receive exceptional service, will keep them coming back.
• Full Utilization of Software & Processes: This helps make all of the above possible.

Job Requirements for Irrigation Technician

• Prior experience in the landscaping, lawn service, or similar service industries.
• You will need to have 1 to 2 years of irrigation field experience.
• If you don’t already have them, you must be willing to complete training to get all required certifications and licenses.

In addition, there are a few additional minimum requirements that are necessary to be considered for this position.

• Clean driving history with experience driving a trailer

Benefits & Pay

The pay range for this position is $24.000 to $27.00 and is dependent on your experience as a lawncare or landscaping professional as well as in leading a team.
