We Invite Applications For The Position Of

Technician - Hardware/Software

Under the general supervision of the Learning Technology Manager and the Administration Zone Coordinator, the Technician - Hardware/Software is responsible for maintaining computer networks, configuring and maintaining computers including servers, workstations, laptops and tablet hardware such as Chromebooks and iPads, training staff and providing software support.

The Successful Candidate Will Possess The Following Qualifications

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or five (5) years equivalent work experience;
  • Technical Certificates or equivalent Microsoft technology training;
  • Comprehensive understanding of current Windows operating systems;
  • Experience in troubleshooting, repairing and maintenance of micro-computers, including Chromebooks and related peripheral equipment;
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of educational and administrative software, including cloud based Apps (GSuite, O365 etc..) and the ability to troubleshoot from a technical and practical point of view;
  • Experience in the use of imaging software and techniques;
  • Training and/or experience with enterprise networks and Wi-Fi technologies.

The Successful Applicant Will Be Expected To

  • Interact effectively and harmoniously with all staff;
  • Possess excellent verbal and communication skills;
  • Document technical procedures and processes;
  • Understand the organization's goals and objectives;
  • Meet critical deadlines;
  • Deliver a high level of customer service;
  • Complete the required District's Health and Safety training.

This is a permanent full-time position starting as soon as possible working 40 hours per week at a wage rate of $39.46 per hour plus a comprehensive employee benefit package including extended health and dental coverage, short-term and long-term disability insurance and participation in a defined benefit pension plan.
