Job summary

Beckhoff Automation Canada in Burnaby, BC, is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join our growing team. You will work directly with customers, application engineers, and sales to support automation systems built with Beckhoff technology.

You will gain hands‑on experience with TwinCAT 3, EtherCAT networks, industrial PCs, and advanced motion control while developing deep expertise in industrial automation. Recent graduates and early-career engineers are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or technologist diploma in Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Understanding of industrial automation systems, controls, or motion technologies.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced technical environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a first point of contact for customer technical inquiries and provide timely, professional support.
  • Troubleshoot automation systems using Beckhoff hardware and software platforms.
  • Provide first‑line technical support via email, phone, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate automation components by developing technical quotations based on their system requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Application Engineering, and Product Specialists.
  • Develop detailed automation system quotations by interpreting customer technical needs and coordinating with internal resources (e.g., Sales, Application Engineering, Product Specialists).
  • Manage and prioritize incoming support requests and elevate complex issues when required.
  • Continuously develop expertise in Beckhoff technologies and modern automation systems.
