Job summary

Beckhoff Automation Canada seeks a Technical Support Specialist in Burnaby, BC to join our growing Technical Support team. You will work directly with customers, application engineers, and sales teams to support real-world automation systems built with Beckhoff technology.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with TwinCAT 3, EtherCAT networks, industrial PCs, and advanced motion control systems, while developing deep expertise in industrial automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or technologist diploma in Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related technical discipline.
• Understanding of industrial automation systems, controls, or motion technologies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced technical environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first point of contact for customer technical inquiries and provide timely, professional support.
• Troubleshoot automation systems using Beckhoff hardware and software platforms.
• Provide first-line technical support via email, phone, and Microsoft Teams.
• Assist customers in selecting appropriate automation components by developing technical quotations based on their system requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Application Engineering, and Product Specialists.
• Develop detailed automation system quotations by interpreting customer technical needs and coordinating with internal resources.
• Manage and prioritize incoming support requests and elevate complex issues when required.
• Continuously develop expertise in Beckhoff technologies and modern automation systems.
