Technical Sales Representative - Commercial

Permacon, a CRH Company, is a leader and pioneer in the development and manufacturing of concrete masonry and landscaping products. Permacon is a division of Oldcastle Architectural and operates 9 plants in Ontario and Quebec.

We are currently looking for a Technical Sales Representative, Commercial Building Solutions for the Ontario Region.

Reporting to the Commercial Sales Director, the Technical Sales Representative will be mainly responsible for promoting all commercial and masonry products to Civil Engineers, Architects, Landscape Architects, Designers, and Municipalities. An integral part of the position is building long-term relationships with civil engineers, architects, and landscape architects, along with providing technical assistance, presentations, seminars on existing and new products, and project tracking.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Identify and prospect for new relationships with civil engineers, architects, and landscape architects.
  2. Work closely with civil engineers, architects, and landscape architects to gain more specifications and acceptance.
  3. Analyze market trends and develop action plans to capitalize on shifts in the market.
  4. Maintain effective relationships with current customers to increase sales and revenue.
  5. Utilize CRM to track sales calls and plan schedules.
  6. Provide technical assistance to customers.
  7. Ensure customers are trained and educated to install our products.
  8. Monitor new projects and ensure a presence on construction sites.
  9. Gather key information about competitors.
  10. Participate in showrooms and trade shows.
Required Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in a discipline related to the construction industry.
  2. 3 to 5 years of technical sales experience, ideally in the building products industry and/or masonry products.
  3. Knowledge of the practices of the design and engineering community.
  4. Excellent sales, communication, customer service, and presentation skills.
  5. High sense of urgency with entrepreneurial qualities.
  6. Ability to navigate CRM platforms.
  7. Result-oriented approach.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  9. Fluent in English, spoken and written.
