Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Technical Project Buyer to manage and plan project execution with the project manager, engineering team and assembly partner. You will lead procurement of technical components for paper machine projects, assess feasibility, timelines, and supplier bids while ensuring budgets and quality standards are met.

You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams, follow up on delivery deadlines, and help optimize the supply chain and logistics footprint to strengthen

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent training.
• Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing industry.
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret engineering documents.

Responsibilities

• Analyze sub-assemblies and determine procurement strategy.
• Manage purchasing process: supplier selection, bidding, analysis, purchasing, follow-up, expediting.
• Support project manager and engineering through equipment manufacturing and assembly.
• Assist with assembly activities and testing in the workshop.
• Provide technical support to suppliers and maintain supplier lists.
• Monitor project progress until shipment and manage non-conformances.
