Job Summary
NetApp is seeking a Technical Hardware and Sustainability Product Manager to join our product management team. The ideal candidate has experience managing hardware designs in large enterprise companies and working collaboratively with global R&D teams. This role reports to the Senior Director of Product Management and involves working closely with Product leadership, Engineering, Procurement, Sustainability, and Support teams to develop a compelling product strategy in a rapidly growing segment.
Additionally, we are looking for a strategic and passionate Sustainability Product Manager to lead our ESG initiatives. Responsibilities include developing sustainability strategies, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities
- Gather, validate, and evaluate product/market requirements through research and customer engagement.
- Collaborate with R&D to translate sustainability market needs into innovative technologies.
- Define product vision, strategy, and lifecycle plans.
- Provide business insights through analytics and market research.
- Translate system functionality and sustainability requirements into business language.
- Gain experience in global sustainability strategies and provide insights to corporate leaders.
- Develop and execute programs to reduce carbon footprint, waste, and resource consumption.
- Understand hardware components' influence on power consumption and develop sustainability metrics reporting.
- Monitor, measure, and report on sustainability metrics, ensuring compliance with standards like ESG, GRI, CDP, and UN SDGs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to embed sustainable practices into business processes.
- Assess and mitigate environmental impacts across operations and supply chains.
- Engage and educate stakeholders on sustainability policies and practices.
- Stay updated on sustainability trends, innovations, and legal requirements.
- Build partnerships with external organizations to enhance sustainability initiatives.
Job Requirements
Technical & Industry Skills:
- Minimum 3+ years in product management, with experience in hardware products.
- Knowledge of server, networking, and storage technologies relevant to data centers.
- Understanding of backup and disaster recovery architectures for SAN and NAS.
- Willingness to handle technical issues reported by customers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and collaborate across functions and geographies.
- Excellent communication and influence skills.
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks, ESG reporting, carbon accounting, and LCA.
- Basic understanding of sustainable supply chains, circular economy, and renewable energy strategies.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Tableau, Salesforce, Jira.
- Hands-on experience provisioning storage devices.
- Deep knowledge of CPUs, GPUs, DPUs, PCIe, NVMe, SSDs.
- Ability to solve ambiguous problems with attention to detail.
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field; MBA preferred.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and certifications like ISO 14001, B Corp, LEED, GRI, Energy Star.
- Over 3 years in sustainability management, CSR, or environmental compliance.
Travel requirements: 15% to 25% of travel expected.
Education & Compensation
The target salary range is $127,500 - $189,200, depending on location, qualifications, and experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, PTO, incentives, stock options, and more. We promote a hybrid working environment.
