In this role, you will provide technical leadership for our Storage Integrity Management Program, helping ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of natural gas storage assets. You will shape integrity strategies, drive risk reduction initiatives, leverage data, and emerging technologies, and build technical capability across the organization while supporting critical energy infrastructure. Support the development of strategic direction aligning priorities with safety, reliability, regulatory compliance, recognized industry practices, and business objectives. Lead fitness-for-service assessments, integrity evaluations, root-cause analyses, and technical assurance activities, including the oversight of external consultants resolving complex technical issues. Analyze and support implementation of applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including CSA Z341, CSA Z662, API 1171, and 49 CFR Part 192, while supporting regulatory audits, inspections, and information requests. Identify, assess, and prioritize integrity threats and risks; support defensible risk models and recommend, track, and evaluate measures that reduce risk across storage wells and associated facilities. Advance data quality, traceability, analytics, dashboards, automation, and the responsible use of AI-enabled solutions to strengthen program insight, effectiveness, documentation, and audit readiness. Champion continuous improvement, emerging technology adoption, and cross-functional collaboration while mentoring technical professionals and strengthening integrity management and system-safety capabilities.
Engineering degree. In Canada, you are required to have a Professional Engineering designation (P Eng) in an applicable province. In the US, it is an asset to have a Professional Engineering designation (PE). Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible experience in asset integrity, natural gas storage, pipelines, storage wells, pressure equipment, or a related field, including technical leadership experience. Knowledgeable to interpret and apply technical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, with solid understanding of CSA Z341, CSA Z662, API 1171, and 49 CFR Part 192 is preferred. Experienced in leading fitness-for-service assessments, integrity evaluations, risk-modelling initiatives, technical assurance activities, or consultant-supported technical work. Ability to integrate technical information and use spreadsheets, databases, GIS-based tools, dashboards, risk models, or comparable systems to develop clear, risk-based recommendations. Effective interpersonal skills that include communication and mentoring and collaborating with internal partners.
Office based. Periodic travel (~20%) to storage sites, operating locations, consultant offices, regulatory meetings, audits, inspections, and industry events may be required. Ability to travel and work throughout Canada and United States. Valid passport is required. Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire. Physical Requirements include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light to moderate lifting of objects up to 20 pounds, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirements including the ability to see screens, detect color coding, and read fine print, hearing requirements, and the ability to sit at a computer for extended periods. Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to: Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information; understand complex problems and collaborate on or explore alternative solutions; organize thoughts and ideas using understandable terminology; organize and prioritize a short-term work schedule; make decisions that have a moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impacts outside this area; understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines; complete routine forms; compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports; and communicate with individuals by telephone.
Salary: Ranges from $145,000 to $190,000 USD for U.S. locations based upon the candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity. Ranges from $145,000 to $180,000 CAD for Ontario locations, based upon the candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.
