We have created a role for a Technical Manager, Automotive and Industrial with a passion for open source and precision engineering. Today, Canonical provides secure and reliable products to our industrial and automotive partners. Our solutions bridge the gap between open-source innovation and industry-specific requirements, including stringent certification processes. Our goal is to enable industries such as automotive to leverage our open source portfolio, from the factory to the cloud, supporting automotive innovation with the most secure and advanced platform.
Your role will include growing and leading a team of dedicated engineers focused on adapting our products to automotive and industrial requirements. Your team will ensure our Linux distribution and products support standards related to processes, cybersecurity, and safety, such as IEC 61508, ISO9001, ISO 21434, UNECE R155 & R156, ISO26262 ASIL (B to D), and ASPICE. You will also work to enhance delivery quality, security, and developer experience, leading, challenging, and influencing the culture and strategy in collaboration with your team. You will report directly to the Vice President of Engineering Excellence and work closely with the Automotive Product Manager to define and execute the vision and roadmap for automotive at Canonical.
Location: This is a globally remote role.
Your compensation will depend on factors like location, experience, and skills. In addition to a competitive base pay, we offer benefits such as a $2,000 annual learning and development budget, annual reviews, recognition rewards, holiday leave, parental leave, an Employee Assistance Program, opportunities for travel, and travel upgrades for company events. Our philosophy is to ensure equity across our global workforce.
