You will also focus on enhancing delivery quality, security, and developer experience, leading strategy and execution while fostering a positive culture. You will report to the Vice President of Engineering Excellence and work closely with the Automotive Product Manager to define and execute the vision and roadmap for automotive at Canonical.

Location: This is a globally remote role.

  4. Lead our Linux distribution and open source software strategy in automotive
  5. Build and lead a globally distributed engineering team, guiding and overseeing their work
  6. Develop skills through coaching, feedback, and hands-on technical leadership
  7. Set expectations with other engineering teams, management, and external stakeholders
  8. Promote modern, agile software development practices
  9. Develop and evangelize engineering and organizational practices
  10. Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values
  11. Work remotely with international travel twice a year, up to two weeks at a time
Who you are
  • Strong background in software engineering, Linux, and open source
  • Deep knowledge of Linux packages and embedded development
  • Familiarity with automotive and industry standards such as ISO21434, ISO26262, SOTIF, IEC 61508, and experience leading compliant product development
