Job summary

Teledyne DALSA, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, designs and manufactures high‑performance CMOS/CCD image sensors and cameras. The Space & Defence group builds sensors, focal planes, and cameras for airborne and space applications, guiding teams to meet customer specs and mitigate technical risk.

You will lead cross‑functional professionals, interact with manufacturing, purchasing, and CMOS development, and ensure rigorous testing and documentation throughout the project

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher in Physics, Nanotechnology, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of design/development experience.
  • Proven experience leading technical projects and engaging multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead one or more projects and manage technical risk.
  • Provide customer technical support and assist sensor integration.

Job Description

Teledyne DALSA is a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Inc., a U.S. publicly listed enterprise, and specializes in the manufacture, design, research and development of high-performance CMOS and CCD image sensors and modular expandable cameras. Teledyne DALSA's products are used worldwide in machine vision, document scanning, image capture, surveillance, process monitoring, manufacturing inspection, medical imaging, and multimedia.

Position Summary And Responsibilities

The Space & Defence group develops both full custom and semi-custom image sensors, focal plane arrays, and cameras for Airborne & Space applications. As the Technical Leader of one or more projects, you will be responsible for their overall technical success by ensuring the final product meets customer specifications, and ensuring technical risk is managed/mitigated. Working hand-in-hand with the Project Manager, you will lead a team that may include sensor/electronics/mechanical design specialists, process engineers, and test specialists. The Technical Leader must also interact with other Teledyne groups including manufacturing, purchasing, and CMOS development.

What You Will Do
  • Work with the Program Manager and technical team to execute on project deliverables and manage technical risk
  • Provide customer technical support and aid in the integration of the sensor into customer electronics
  • Interface with the various technical teams (Manufacturing/Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Electronics, CMOS, etc) to ensure technical specifications are met
  • Ensure project/Teledyne Product Assurance requirements are met
  • Coordinate sensor & camera build activities, environmental/acceptance testing, and review TRR reports/analysis with Test Engineering

To be successful in this role, what we're looking for in you is:

  • Broad knowledge of systems engineering, process engineering, electronics design, mechanical design, and optics
  • Understanding of semiconductor theory and CMOS image sensors
  • Must be a strong team player, as well as be able to work independently
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Report writing is essential.
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturability and Reliability engineering
  • Experience preparing & revising technical reports and project documents
What You Need
  • Bachelors or postgraduate degree in Physics/Nanotechnology/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of design/development experience
  • Strong, proven experience leading/managing a technical project and driving technology development
  • Proven experience working within a large multidisciplinary team and excellent communication skills are required
  • Experience evaluating risk and driving change
  • Experience providing customer with technical guidance with support from technical experts
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Eligible for Controlled Goods security clearance
The Ideal Candidate Will Also Have
  • Experience with ECSS and MIL standards
  • Strong Technical Program Management experience
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Experience leading junior designers and test specialists
  • Experience with the Space systems
  • Experience with CCD/CMOS image sensors or cameras

Occasional travel may be expected to support new customers and product introduction.

Salary Range

$76,800.00-$102,400.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
