Job summary

TELUS Digital is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to bridge business needs and technical solutions within a major TELUS transformation program. You will translate user stories into clear technical specifications, design RESTful APIs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery.

You will own assessments of scope, risks, and effort, while championing data integrity and customer experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and supporting enterprise apps on BSS/OSS platforms.
• 5+ years of hands-on Java development.
• 3+ years creating REST APIs and cloud development.
• Strong Agile and CI/CD experience.

Responsibilities

• Translate user stories and business needs into functional requirements and technical specs for development teams.
• Design web service interfaces and API specifications including operations, requests, responses, fields and edge cases.
• Investigate, test, and triage defects; coordinate and plan releases for the Integration Systems team.
• Act as the bridge between technical and non-technical teams to keep integration work moving forward.
• Produce assessments covering scope, risks, and effort to support planning and resourcing.
• Champion data integrity and customer experience; identify process and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and meet shared objectives.

About the Role

At TELUS Digital, you'll be at the heart of a major TELUS transformation program, working as a Business Systems Analyst who bridges business needs and technical solutions. You'll dig into user stories, assess impact on existing products, and help shape the integrations and services that keep our systems running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Translate user stories and business needs into clear, well‑structured functional requirements and technical specifications for development teams

• Design web service interfaces and produce detailed API specifications, covering service operations, request/response structures, field types, and edge‑case conditions

• Investigate, test, and triage defects, then help coordinate and plan releases for the Integration Systems team

• Act as the connective tissue between technical and non‑technical teams — facilitating discussions and keeping integration and web service work moving forward

• Produce thoughtful assessments and estimates covering scope, assumptions, risks, and effort to support planning and resourcing

• Champion data integrity and customer experience, spotting opportunities for process and performance improvements

• Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver on shared objectives

Technical Skills We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience building and supporting applications on a BSS/OSS COTS platform (e.g., NetCracker)

• 5+ years developing complex enterprise applications

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with core Java

• 5+ years writing and performance‑tuning complex PL/SQL queries

• 3+ years building REST APIs

• 3+ years working with cloud‑based development

• Solid grasp of microservices architecture principles

• Experience with Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration/Continuous Testing

• Understanding of Application Lifecycle Management, including service, release, and change management

• Comfortable leading root cause analysis, risk assessment/mitigation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
