Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Technical Expert, Engineering - Mass Properties for the Advanced Design Department. You will supervise Mass Properties activities across aircraft development programs and guide senior engineers.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in aerospace and 10+ in Mass Properties, with CAD experience (Siemens NX) and a university degree in Engineering. You will mentor juniors and contribute to tool development and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Over 15 years of aerospace engineering experience.
• Over 10 years of Mass Properties experience.
• Experience in aircraft development programs as a Mass Properties expert.
• Strong understanding of aircraft systems and structures.
• Familiar with the aircraft development and certification processes.
• Mentoring and guiding junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support Mass Properties activities of aircraft development projects.
• Review and approve Mass Properties deliverables.
• Participate in planning and tracking Mass Properties activities.
• Provide supervision, guidance and mentoring to junior team members and interns.
• Engage with internal and external contributors as Mass Properties representative.
• Contribute to the development plan for Mass Properties tools and processes.

What are your contributions to the team?

In your role, you will:

• Supervise and support Mass Properties activities of aircraft development projects
• Participate in Mass Properties activities, such as:
  • Weight and center of gravity (CG) predictions at various levels of details in support of:
    • Aircraft configuration development
    • Tradeoff studies
    • Uncertainty analysis
    • Cost estimations
    • Supplier discussions and negotiations
    • Etc
  • Detailed analysis:
    • Mass distribution and inertias estimations<
    • Fuel migration analysis
    • Buoyancy assessment
  • Weight targets definition
  • Etc
• Review and approve Mass Properties deliverables
• Participate in the planning and tracking of Mass Properties activities
• Participate in discussions with internal and external contributors and/or partners as a Mass Properties representative
• Take active role in integration activities as a senior representative of the Mass Properties discipline
• Contribute to the development plan for Mass Properties tools and processes with a focus on continuous improvement
• Provide supervision, guidance and mentoring to more junior members of the Mass Properties team
• Supervise engineering students’ internships.
