Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Job Technical Expert Senior in Engineering - Defense to lead a team responsible for structure and system installation concepts for Airframe programs, both new and existing. The role works closely with stress, systems, interiors, and support functions to ensure technical viability.

The position emphasizes bid accuracy, cost and schedule control, and participation in design reviews with partners and suppliers, with frequent change-management oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to develop structure and system installation layouts for new and existing aircraft programs.
• Interface with stress, systems, interiors, and support functions (thermodynamics, mass properties).
• Provide customization bids for cost, schedule and certifiability within constraint times.
• Generate preliminary design studies and 3D layouts.
• Provide technical solutions to resolve design or manufacturing issues.
• Suggest weight-savings ideas and support weight-analysis inputs.
• Support design reviews with partners and suppliers.
• Communicate project status to management.
• Manage design changes through the change management process.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Lead a team who will develop structure and system installation conceptual layouts for the complete Airframe on new and existing aircraft programs.
• Closely interface with stress, systems, interiors, and support functions such as thermodynamics, mass properties, etc.
• Working closely with Program Management Office, responsible to provide customization bids and ensure their viability for both cost, schedule and certifiability within restraint response times.
• Generate preliminary design studies and layouts using 3D modeling.
• Provide technical solutions to resolve design or manufacturing issues.
• Generate and execute weight savings ideas.
• Supply input to impact analysis (technical, cost, schedule).
• Support directly other engineering and operations departments.
• Support or lead design and program reviews with partner/suppliers.
• Provide status for project and functional management.
• Manage design changes through all the cycles of the change management process.
