Job summary

AAA Canada is seeking a Technical Expert in Aerostructure Integrator to lead structural concepts and drawings for aircraft zones, coordinating with loads, materials, systems and manufacturing. The role demands deep aerostructure knowledge, CATIA V5/ENOVIA experience, and fluent French and English.

Based in Dorval, the contract position offers opportunities to drive design reviews, support certification, and mentor teams on complex integration challenges within a major aerospace program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace/mechanical/other engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant aeronautical engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design, joints, tolerances and GD&T.
  • Know-how in technical drawings, 3D definition, PLM and config. mgmt.
  • Bilingual in French and English.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review structural concepts, 3D models, assemblies and drawings for aircraft zones.
  • Define metallic/composite parts, joints, interfaces, tolerances and provisions.
  • Apply design practices for load paths, manufacturability, assembly, maintainability and cost.
  • Coordinate structural definition with loads, materials, systems and manufacturing.
  • Resolve interface conflicts and support design trade studies.
  • Participate in design reviews and communicate design intent clearly.
  • Support certification with traceable design definition and justification.
  • Support production, suppliers and in-service investigations.
  • Manage design changes and PLM data.
  • Act as discipline authority for complex integration issues.
  • Guide design architecture, governance and knowledge transfer.

Job offer: Technical Expert, Engineering - Aerostructure Integrator
Location: Dorval (Quebec)
Company: AAA Canada (mandate for a major aerospace player)
Type: 6 to 12-month contract

Responsibilities
  • - Develop and review structural concepts, 3D models, assemblies, installation drawings and detail drawings for assigned aircraft zones;
  • - Define metallic and composite parts, joints, interfaces, fastening concepts, tolerances and provisions according to applicable design requirements;
  • - Apply good design practices regarding load paths, manufacturability, assembly, inspection, maintainability, mass and costs;
  • - Coordinate structural definition with loads and stress, materials and processes, systems installation, aerodynamics, interiors, manufacturing, quality and other relevant disciplines;
  • - Resolve geometric and physical interface conflicts and support technical trade studies;
  • - Participate in design reviews and clearly communicate design intent, assumptions, constraints and open points;
  • - Support justification and certification activities by providing complete and traceable design definition as well as technical justification;
  • - Support production, supplier and in-service investigations, including root cause analysis and design corrective actions;
  • - Manage design changes and maintain product configuration and definition data in the applicable PLM environment;
  • - Act as the discipline technical authority for the most complex or high-impact integration issues;
  • - Guide design architecture and strategy, resolve cross-functional technical risks and provide authoritative recommendations to management;
  • - Develop organizational capabilities through governance, standards, mentoring, knowledge transfer and external technical alignment.
Profile sought
  • - You hold a Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering or another relevant discipline, or equivalent experience;
  • - You possess a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in aeronautical engineering or a related industry;
  • - You master structural configuration and detailed aircraft design, metallic and composite design principles, joints, fasteners, tolerancing and GD&T;
  • - You have good knowledge of technical drawings, 3D definition, manufacturability, assembly and inspection, as well as PLM processes, engineering change and configuration management;
  • - You are comfortable with CATIA V5, ENOVIA and MS Office software (knowledge of NX and Teamcenter is an asset);
  • - You are bilingual (French and English).
