Job summary

AAA Canada Inc. in Dorval, QC, seeks a Technical Expert, Engineering - Aerostructures Integrator for a 6- to 12-month contract. The role calls for 15+ years in aeronautical engineering and hands-on structural design of metallic and composite parts using CATIA V5 and ENOVIA.

You will lead complex integration, govern PLM data, and mentor cross-functional teams while supporting certification and production on a major aerospace program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical or related field; equivalent experience acceptable.
  • 15+ years of aeronautical engineering or related industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design, GD&T, tolerancing, and PLM data management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review structural concepts, 3D models, assemblies and drawings.
  • Define metallic and composite parts, joints, tolerances, and interfaces.
  • Coordinate structural definition with loads, materials, systems, and manufacturing teams.
  • Support design reviews, certification activities, and technical trade-off studies.
  • Manage design changes and PLM data; act as technical authority for complex issues.
  • Guide architecture and design strategy; mentor teams and align with standards.

Job Opportunity: Technical Expert, Engineering - Aerostructures Integrator
Location: Dorval (Quebec)
Company: AAA Canada (assignment for a major organization in aerospace)
Employment Type: Contract (6 to 12 months)

Responsibilities
  • Develop and review structural concepts, 3D models, assemblies, installation drawings, and detail drawings for assigned aircraft zones;
  • Define metallic and composite parts, joints, interfaces, fastening concepts, tolerances, and provisions according to applicable design requirements;
  • Apply sound design practices relating to load paths, manufacturability, assembly, inspection, maintainability, weight, and cost;
  • Coordinate structural definition with teams responsible for loads and stress, materials and processes, systems installation, aerodynamics, interiors, manufacturing, quality, and other relevant disciplines;
  • Resolve geometric and physical interface conflicts and support technical trade-off studies;
  • Participate in design reviews and clearly communicate design intent, assumptions, constraints, and open points;
  • Support justification and certification activities by providing complete and traceable design definition and technical justification;
  • Support production, supplier, and in-service investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective design actions;
  • Manage design changes and maintain configuration and product definition data within the applicable PLM environment;
  • Act as the discipline's technical authority for the most complex or high-impact integration issues;
  • Guide architecture and design strategy, resolve cross-functional technical risks, and provide authoritative recommendations to management;
  • Develop organizational capability through governance, standards, mentoring, knowledge transfer, and external technical alignment.
Candidate Profile
  • You hold a bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or another relevant discipline, or equivalent experience;
  • You have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in aeronautical engineering or a related industry;
  • You are skilled in structural configuration and detailed aircraft design, metallic and composite design principles, joints, fasteners, tolerancing and GD&T, technical drawings, 3D definition, manufacturability, assembly, inspection, materials, processes, aeronautical design standards, certification principles, and configuration management, with knowledge of CATIA V5, ENOVIA, MS Office, and ideally NX and Teamcenter;
  • You are bilingual (French and English).
