Job summary

AAA Canada Inc. in Laval, Quebec, is seeking a Design Engineer specialized in nacelles to lead the creation and updating of drawings, 3D models and technical docs.

This full-time role focuses on structural design, repairs, and supporting design reviews within a dynamic aerospace environment. You will work with nacelle components such as fan cowls and fairings, applying CAD tools like CATIA V5/V6 and SolidWorks to deliver compliant and documented engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in aerospace, manufacturing or MRO sectors.
• Experience with aircraft structures and nacelle systems is needed.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and configuration control is essential.

Job offer: Design Engineer - Nacelles
Location: Laval (Quebec)
Company: AAA Canada (mandate for a major aerospace player)
Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Produce and update technical drawings, 3D models and technical documentation;
• Apply established engineering principles to support structural design, repairs and minor modifications;
• Support design reviews;
• Ensure engineering data is accurate, complete and compliant;
• Support engineering activities related to nacelle components such as fan cowls, inlets, thrust reversers, fairings and acoustic panels;
• Apply existing knowledge of nacelle structures and continue to develop nacelle-specific expertise;
• Support development and repair design updates;
• Perform basic structural assessments and engineering calculations;
• Contribute to the preparation of justification and technical justification documents;
• Provide support for non-conformance investigations and service findings;
• Work closely with production and quality departments to ensure designs are practical and feasible;
• Provide technical support to the shop floor and participate in troubleshooting;
• Understand and integrate maintenance, repair and operational constraints such as access, tooling and turnaround times;
• Follow established engineering, quality and design processes;
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements;
• Provide support for audit preparation and technical reviews as needed;
• Actively develop technical skills in aerospace design and nacelle structures;
• Contribute to the development of best practices in standard repair and engineering;
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Profile sought

• You hold a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field;
• You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience in the aerospace, manufacturing, and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) sectors;
• You have experience with aircraft structures and/or nacelle systems;
• You have practical experience with CAD tools, ideally CATIA V5/V6 (NX or SolidWorks also accepted);
• You have a working knowledge of aerospace materials and basic structural concepts;
• You have good knowledge of technical documentation and configuration control;
• You hold strong engineering foundations combined with a practical mindset;
• You are able to work with limited supervision on defined tasks;
• You have an eye for detail and document quality;
• You are collaborative and open to feedback;
• You demonstrate an interest in developing technical specialization;
• You are bilingual (French and English).
