Job description

PixMob creates magical experiences for live events around the world. You might have seen 60,000 fans light up at the Super Bowl or at a Coldplay concert. Our mission? To spark joy and unforgettable memories for every fan.

We work with international artists, event organizers, sports teams, and brands to make every event extra special. At PixMob, innovation and design are in our DNA. From rapid prototyping to mass manufacturing, we craft cutting-edge wireless tech right at our Montreal HQ. And we care about the planet — we fight single-use plastics and use recycled or compostable materials wherever we can.

We’re looking for a Technical Drafter

Role Summary

Reporting to the Director of Technical Operations – Production, you are the key resource who sets the stage for our touring teams and collaborates closely with Technical Leads. Using existing plans and working alongside the technical team, your role is to position our equipment for optimal performance while planning the necessary support structures (trusses, towers). You play a critical role in pre-production engineering by ensuring system integration into client plans and preparing surfaces for complex projection studies.

Main Responsibilities

Technical Integration & Planning

  • Use existing 3D models to identify and draft optimal equipment installation points.
  • Clean up and simplify 3D files (AutoCAD, VectorWorks).
  • Build previsualization files and batch maps (pixel zoning) so operators can program the show remotely.

Structure Design & Material Management

  • Draft structural layouts (trusses, ground towers) required for deployment.
  • Define specific equipment requirements for events.

Creative Pre-production & Event Support

  • Participate in the creative process: prepare projection surfaces and pixmaps for the creative team, and build 3D space models.
  • Act as a technical point of contact to support required adjustments and plan modifications as projects evolve.
What we’re looking for
  • Education: Technical diploma (DEC) in Industrial Design, Stage Production, Stage Management, Stage Technique, Lighting, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience using AutoCAD and Vectorworks in professional contexts or large-scale projects.
  • Software Skills: Proficient with AutoCAD and Vectorworks. Experience with 3D CAD software like SolidWorks or Inventor is a plus.
  • Technical Background: Solid understanding of stage structures (trussing, rigging) and lighting setups.
  • Mindset: Highly resourceful with a strong sense of initiative. You can make solid technical decisions and propose smart logistical solutions when a plan hits a snag!
Inclusivity

Inclusivity is at the heart of our culture. We welcome and value candidates of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Our job posting uses simplified grammar to make it easier to read across languages and is not intended to exclude or favor any gender.

Join us to help build a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected and empowered.

Thanks for your interest in PixMob and this role! Only selected candidates will be contacted.
