Job summary

DGA Careers is seeking a Technical Advisor specializing in Group Benefits in Quebec. The role offers a permanent, full-time position with a 35-hour workweek and a hybrid or 100% remote option, depending on your preference.

You will lead the full technical management of group benefits files, support clients and drive market submissions, analyses, and proposals with carriers and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Group Benefits, with underwriting, pricing, analysis or a technical focus.
  • Strong analytical abilities and numerical acumen.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort with data-heavy spreadsheets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Extract, analyze and validate data for technical files.
  • Prepare summary tables, analyses and projections using Excel.
  • Manage market submissions and RFPs with proper specifications.
  • Analyze quotations and negotiate with insurance carriers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to tailor client solutions.
  • Support management, retention and growth of client portfolio.
  • Prepare client-facing reports and renewal presentations.
  • Ensure data accuracy and deliverable quality while meeting deadlines.

Job description

To support its continued growth, our client is looking for a Technical Advisor specializing in Group Benefits to help develop unique and tailored group insurance solutions for its clients.

This position can be performed anywhere in Quebec, with the flexibility to work either in a hybrid model or fully remotely, according to your preference.

In this role, you will be responsible for the full technical management of group benefits files, supporting both existing clients and new business opportunities.

You will play a key role in market submissions, technical analyses, requests for proposals and reporting, while working closely with insurance carriers and internal teams.

Through your analytical mindset, attention to detail and group benefits expertise, you will contribute directly to the quality of recommendations, portfolio growth and continuous improvement of internal practices.

  • Base salary between $80,000 and $125,000 per year, depending on experience;

Your Day-to-Day
  • Extract, analyze and validate the data required to prepare technical files;
  • Prepare summary tables, comparative analyses and projections using Excel and internal tools;
  • Manage market submissions and requests for proposals, including preparing specifications and submission documents;
  • Analyze and compare quotations and participate in negotiations with insurance carriers;
  • Work closely with internal teams to customize proposed solutions according to each client’s needs;
  • Support the management, retention and growth of the client portfolio;
  • Prepare client-facing reports and presentations, including proposals, experience reports and renewal presentations;
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of data, as well as the overall quality of deliverables;
  • Meet deadlines and maintain rigorous follow-up on assigned files;
  • Collaborate with insurance carriers and various stakeholders to obtain the information required for technical analyses;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
What You Bring
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Group Benefits, particularly in underwriting, pricing, analysis or a technical role;
  • A strong analytical mindset and excellent numerical skills;
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and confidence working with data and complex spreadsheets;
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines;
  • The ability to analyze large amounts of information and identify key insights;
  • An interest in working with numbers while understanding the business implications behind the data;
  • Strong organizational skills, autonomy and the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously;
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, clients and insurance carriers.
