Job summary

Economical Insurance, part of Definity, is seeking an Underwriter in the Technology Underwriting team within Specialty Insurance. You will underwrite technology-focused risks across property, casualty, cyber, and E&O, including cross-border placements, collaborating to develop tailored solutions.

You will drive growth and retention of renewal business, assess new submissions, negotiate terms with brokers, and mentor peers while building strong internal relationships.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma required.
• Three to five years of relevant insurance or underwriting experience in P&C underwriting.
• Interest in cyber and errors & omissions insurance is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• French language skills are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Grow and retain an assigned renewal book.
• Assess and quote new submissions within underwriting authority.
• Negotiate renewal terms with broker partners.
• Build and promote the Technology vertical with internal partners.
• Develop relationships with broker partners through visits and marketing calls.
• Mentor and support fellow underwriters in the team.
