Job summary

Ascendant is seeking an experienced Manager, Technology Operations to lead the organization’s technology operations, infrastructure, security, and service delivery. The role reports to the CIO and requires in-office attendance four days per week in downtown Toronto.

The successful candidate will balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a regulated environment, manage budgets, vendors, and audits, and drive continuous improvement across operations and support functions.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of IT operations or technology leadership experience.
• Experience in regulated, security-focused, or financial services environments.
• Experience supporting audits and regulatory assessments.
• Strong budgeting, planning, and financial management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day technology operations, infrastructure, availability, performance, and reliability.
• Manage server, network, endpoint, and cloud environments; monitor, patch, capacity plan, and optimize.
• Coordinate upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle planning.
• Plan and test backup and disaster recovery processes for business continuity.
• Ensure governance, risk, and compliance alignment; support audits and remediation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technology professionals and vendors.
