Navio Law in Ottawa, Ontario, seeks an Intermediate or Senior Lawyer (4+ years’ call) for its corporate, commercial, and employment practice. You’ll independently manage files, be primary client contact, mentor juniors, and help grow the firm.

This role offers ownership of deals from structuring to closing, cross-disciplinary work, and a pathway to partnership. We value entrepreneurial mindset, proactive problem solving, and a collaborative culture with hybrid work and competitive compensation.

Qualifikationen

• J.D./LL.B. and good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Legal chops: independently manage files, draft and negotiate complex corporate matters.
• Client & business savvy with ability to manage expectations and communicate clearly.
• Team player who can mentor juniors and collaborate with founders on bigger files.

Aufgaben

• Run corporate and commercial files with minimal supervision, including M&A, financings, restructurings, and JV work.
• Own your files from intake to closing: scoping, organizing, deadlines, and deciding when to loop in a team.
• Act as primary client contact, lead meetings, translate legalese into business language.
• Mentor junior lawyers, review work, and collaborate with founders on bigger files.
• Grow the firm by deepening client relationships, pursuing referrals, and contributing to business development.
• Collaborate across disciplines to provide holistic solutions across business law.
• Take initiative to improve templates, processes, and project management tools.
