Job summary

Caravel Law is seeking a driven Start-up Lawyer to join our non-traditional firm. You will advise growth companies on corporate matters including formation, shareholders' agreements, and general commercial contracts, while maintaining independent contractor status and remote work flexibility.

The role requires a minimum of five years’ experience, an Ontario Bar, and strong organizational skills. You will operate with autonomy and manage priorities in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience advising clients, ideally entrepreneurs and start-ups.
• A call to the Ontario Bar and comfort with provincial and federal incorporations.
• Strong organizational and project-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and exercise sound judgment with limited supervision.

What You'll Do

• Advise a variety of growth companies on corporate legal matters, including company formation, shareholders' agreements, legal entity management, and other general commercial contract needs as they arise.

What You'll Bring

• A minimum of five years’ experience advising clients, ideally entrepreneurs and start-ups, preferably gained in private practice at a major Canadian law firm.


• A call to the Ontario Bar and comfort working with both provincial and federal incorporations.


• Strong organizational and project management skills.


• The ability to work independently, manage priorities, and exercise sound judgment with limited supervision.
