Job summary

YMCA of Greater Vancouver is seeking an energetic individual to help run our Youth Basketball Leagues in Surrey. The role involves supporting program delivery, attending practices and games, and coordinating payroll, scheduling, and volunteer compliance.

Applicants should have coaching experience with children, at least one year leading a team, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. First Aid/CPR and a current vulnerable-sector check are required or obtainable within 90 days and six months

Qualifications

• Experience coaching children and youth in sports.
• Minimum 1 year experience leading a team.
• Emergency First Aid & CPR (can be taken within 90 days of start date).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Database management an asset.
• Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references.
• Current Criminal Record check with Vulnerable sector search within six months preceding start date.

Nature & Scope

Join our Team! Our YMCA Youth Basketball Leagues programs offer children and youth a skill based, recreational experience. Our Jr YMCA Basketball program is an entry-level program that introduces children in kindergarten to Grade 1 to the sport of basketball in a fun, active and healthy learning environment. Our YMCA Youth Basketball League is volunteer-driven and teaches kids in grades 2 – 9, the game of basketball with an emphasis on fun and teamwork.

Major Responsibilites

In this position, you will:
