What is the opportunity?
This position is responsible for leading the daily operations and acts as a liaison for escalation and information resource for the Reconciliation Team. The primary focus is to provide leadership and vision to the team through ongoing training initiatives, ensuring controls are well understood and adhered to and support the manager ensuring all sections of the department operate smoothly and efficiently. The incumbent will seek to maximize operational effectiveness, reinforce positive client service experience and mitigate risk. All responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with Code of Conduct, RBC Values and Standing Order.
What will you do?
- Supports management team in providing leadership, with an emphasis on coaching cross training and teamwork.
- Identify performance gaps within the team and initiate discussion with manager on how to close the gaps.
- Responsible for training and cross training of staff and be the first contact for queries from reconciliation team.
- Check and validate accuracy of reconciliation spreadsheets when Manger is absent. Sign off as mandated.
What you need to succeed?
- University degree or College Diploma or any equivalent combination of qualifications and/or experience.
- 3+ years in a Capital Markets and/or reconciliation based role
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Problem Solving /Analytical Thinking.
- Diplomacy and tact to deal with staff and all levels of
- internal and external clients.
- Ensure working environment provides motivation and
- development opportunities.
- Promote ongoing cross-training for all positions to ensure availability of primary/secondary back up.
- Developing a culture of continuous self development.
