Job summary

Sanoh Canada Ltd. in Orangeville, Ontario is seeking an experienced Team Leader on the afternoon shift to oversee 10–15 production associates, assure safety, quality and efficiency, and support the supervisor in daily manufacturing activities.

This hands-on role requires training production staff, enforcing lean practices, conducting audits, and coordinating with quality to resolve issues. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits in a dynamic automotive tier 1 environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists supervisor in managing daily activities of 10 to 15 production associates assuring good quality parts are produced safely and efficiently.

• Assists the supervisor in managing production activities for employees such as pullboard updates, paperwork, TS audits, cost savings, and operator instructions.
• Performs process audits on assigned employees to ensure all processes, procedures, and work instructions are followed.
• Performs quality checks on production operations to ensure they meet quality requirements.
• Assists quality in completing corrective action reports for quality concerns.

Job description

Sanoh Canada Ltd. has a permanent full-time job opening on the afternoon shift, for an experienced Team Leader at our Orangeville, Ontario location. We are an automotive tier 1 manufacturing environment and offer a competitive salary and benefits program.

SHIFT: AFTERNOON (3:30pm - 1:00am)

GENERAL SUMMARY (Describe the overall duties and responsibilities of the job):

1. 1.Assists supervisor in managing daily activities of 10 to 15 production associates.
2. 2.Effectively train production associates.
3. 3.Assists supervisor in managing production activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties required for successful job performance):

1. 1.Assists supervisor in managing daily activities of 10 to 15 production associates assuring good quality parts are produced safely and efficiently. 35 %
2. 2.Effectively train production associates and assure proper completion of training records. 25%
3. 3.Assists the supervisor in managing production activities for employees such as pullboard up-dates, paperwork, TS audits, cost savings, and operator instructions, etc.) 20%
4. 4.Performs process audits on assigned employees to ensure all processes, procedures, and work instructions are followed. 10%
5. 5.Performs quality checks on production operations to ensure they meet quality specifications such as gauging and SOP checks to ensure production parts meet all quality requirements. Notifies supervisor of any issues. 5%
6. 6.Assists quality in completing corrective action reports for external and internal quality concerns. 5%

2. 2.Thorough understanding of Sanoh’s safety and quality policies and procedures
3. 3.Working knowledge of Sanoh’s on-the-job system, including document control
4. 4.Working knowledge of product function for all parts in assigned area(s)
5. 5.Working knowledge of Sanoh’s production paperwork (reports, traceability, check sheets, etc.) for assigned area(s)
6. 6.Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles
7. 7.Basic understanding of problem-solving tools and methods
8. 8.Working knowledge of all customer specifications and expectations for all parts in assigned area(s)
9. 9.Ability to effectively train others

REQUIRED DECISION-MAKING AND ORGANIZATION IMPACT (Describe the typical types of decisions made by employees in this job and the likely impact of those decisions on the Company).

1. 1.“Assists supervisor in managing daily activities of 10 to 15 production associates assuring good quality parts are produced safely and efficiently.” – If quality parts are not produced, we could shut down our customer or lose our contract with them.
2. 2. “Effectively train production associates and assure proper completion of training records.” – If associates are not trained properly they will not make quality parts.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS (Indicate job titles for this job’s supervisor and direct reports).

1. 1.This position reports directly to the Supervisors.
2. 2.This position directs the work of Production Associates, but they do not report to this position. The Supervisor deals with reviews, disciplinary action and other Human Resource related items.

WORKING CONDITIONS (Describe the environment within which the work is performed).

1. 1.Spend 95% of the time on the Production Floor.
2. 2.Able to work in warm conditions.
3. 3.Able to work in dusty and noisy conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. 1. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently and 10 lbs. constantly.
2. 2. Must be able to move throughout the plant.
3. 3. Must be able to work overtime.
