Job summary

Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited in Oakville is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a joining and sealing operations team on rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.

You will drive safety, quality and efficiency, coach hourly staff, use data to reduce downtime, and coordinate with maintenance for preventive actions.

A Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of supervisory manufacturing experience is required; lean knowledge is a plus and you can advance within a large automotive plant.

Responsibilities

• As a Production Supervisor, you are the vital link between strategic goals and daily execution. You'll be leading a dedicated hourly team, fostering an environment where they can do their best work and feel empowered.
• Safety First: Act as a champion of workplace safety, proactively enforcing regulations and fostering a culture of vigilance
• Driving Operational Excellence: Lead and direct a team of employees that consistently makes high-quality products and meets or exceeds production targets. You will take ownership of team performance, addressing shortcomings proactively and celebrating successes. Coordinate with the production team on containment activities or corrective actions for identified issues to minimize impact on production and quality.
• Strategic Focus & Problem Solving: Prioritize critical tasks and effectively allocate human resources to maximize efficiency. You will apply for a 'Bias for Action,' promptly and decisively addressing safety and quality issues to prevent larger problems. This includes identifying and analyzing problems, developing and implementing effective solutions, making timely and well-informed decisions, and adapting to changing circumstances.
• Team Leadership & Development: Embrace a servant leadership style, focusing on building high performing, winning teams and investing in their growth. You will foster a positive and collaborative work environment, motivating your team to achieve shared goals. Manage personnel resources and develop versatility within the joining operations team through training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data and insights to strike down downtime and quality defects, driving quantifiable improvements in efficiency and quality. This includes meticulously tracking and reporting employee time and attendance, transforming raw data into actionable intelligence for strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.

• Conflict Resolution & Interpersonal Relationships: Proactively address conflicts fair and effectively, facilitating mutually acceptable solutions. As a Production Supervisor- Joining you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing various joining and sealing processes within the body and assembly manufacturing process. You will ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to corporate standards. You will directly supervise and lead a team of joining Inspectors. You will conduct regular job observations to validate performance and ensure process adherence.

• Strong problem‑solving skills, including the application of 8D, Statistical Process Control, and DMAIC Project Methodologies

• Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka‑Yoke, and Value Stream Mapping experience

The expected annual salary range for this position is $74,000 - $124,000 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
