Job summary

Jobtailor in Mississauga, Canada is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to perform CMM-based inspections of incoming materials and complex components.

You will develop inspection programs with PC-DMIS or PolyWorks, review FAIRs, and collaborate with suppliers, engineering, and QA to drive quality improvements. The role requires GD&T proficiency, precise reporting, and clear communication. Rotating shifts and independent work are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in CMM inspection and/or receiving inspection.
• Solid understanding of GD&T.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of incoming inspection processes and supplier quality requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency in data analysis and technical report writing.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Current work authorization for Canada is required.
• Criminal background check required for candidates aged 18 and over.
• Preferred: experience in aerospace or precision machining.
• Preferred: familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems.
• Preferred: certification in metrology or quality inspection (ASQ or equivalent).
• Preferred: experience with ERP systems for inspection documentation.
• Preferred: experience using Net-Inspect or similar FAIR management systems.
• Strong experience using PC-DMIS and PolyWorks for programming and operation.
• Experience with standard inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspection of incoming materials, components, and parts.
• Conduct dimensional inspections using CMM on complex components.
• Develop, modify, and execute inspection programs with PC-DMIS and PolyWorks.
• Review FAIRs submitted by suppliers using Net-Inspect.
• Review and verify supplier documentation and certifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections as required.
• Identify non-conforming materials and support disposition activities.
• Analyze inspection data and trends to identify quality issues.
• Prepare clear inspection reports and technical documentation.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
• Ensure inspection tools and CMM equipment are calibrated and maintained.
• Work closely with suppliers, engineering, and internal quality teams.
