Job description

Build Quality. Drive Precision. Make an Impact.

If you are an experienced quality professional who enjoys solving complex measurement challenges—not simply running established programs—this could be the opportunity for you.

For over 40 years, SICOM Industries Ltd., a division of Boundary Group, has been a trusted manufacturer of high-precision machined components serving the aerospace, defence, mining, oil and gas, and commercial industries.

As an ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100-certified organization, we are committed to delivering exceptional quality, precision, and customer service through the expertise of our people.

We are looking for a skilled Quality Control Inspector / CMM Programmer who shares our commitment to excellence. If you take pride in precision, enjoy solving complex inspection challenges, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we would like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As a Quality Control Inspector / CMM Programmer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our precision-machined components consistently meet customer, engineering, and quality requirements.

Working closely with our machining and production teams, you will perform independent inspections throughout the manufacturing process, develop and improve CMM programs, and help maintain the integrity of our quality management system.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Program, set up, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines using PC-DMIS and/or ZEISS CALYPSO software
  • Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections of complex precision-machined components
  • Develop, modify, validate, and improve CMM inspection programs
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements in accordance with ASME Y14.5
  • Select appropriate inspection methods and equipment based on drawing, specification, and product requirements
  • Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, and other inspection tools
  • Complete inspection reports and maintain clear and accurate quality documentation
  • Verify product conformity throughout all machine shop processes
  • Identify, document, and communicate non-conforming products
  • Work collaboratively with machining and production teams to investigate and resolve quality concerns
  • Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain inspection equipment and support applicable calibration requirements
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, safety standards, and quality management system requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS, ZEISS CALYPSO, or comparable CMM programming software
  • Strong understanding of GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5
  • Experience performing first-article, in-process, and final inspections
  • Experience inspecting precision-machined components in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements
  • Proficiency using standard precision measuring and inspection equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and work effectively under production deadlines
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience programming with PC-DMIS and/or ZEISS CALYPSO
  • Experience working within an AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management system
  • Experience in aerospace, defence, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting non-conformance investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Experience using CAD models to support CMM programming and inspection

We recognize that capable candidates may not meet every preferred qualification. If you have strong inspection experience, a solid understanding of GD&T, and experience with CMM programming—or closely related experience with the ability to learn a new platform.
