Job summary

Inspiretci in Brampton, ON is seeking a Team Lead - Plastic Extrusion to oversee extrusion, winding and slitting operations on a 24/7 production line. The role requires hands-on leadership to run extrusion equipment and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will coordinate start-ups of production lines, operate resin feeding systems and auxiliary equipment, and manage shift activities with two-week rotating day/night schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in plastics extrusion or related production equipment.
• Experience with lift trucks or overhead cranes is a plus.
• Strong leadership and previous supervisory experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion machinery safely and efficiently with quality output.
• Start-up production lines (extruders, winders, packaging).
• Operate resin material feeding system and auxiliary equipment (heaters/coolers, grinders).
• Change tapes manually and manage fabric master rolls with cranes.
• Shutdown production lines and set cool-down temperatures on extruders.
• Monitor thickness profile scanner and extrusion die.
• Run a highly automated slitter machine and winder.
• Perform other duties as assigned by shift Team Leader.

About the job Team Lead - Plastic Extrusion

The Team LeadExtrusion Operator operates a sheet extrusion line/slitter machine in our client's 24/7 production operation in Brampton, ON, working 12-hour continental shifts or 8-hour shifts, as per current Company demands.

The team lead's role involves running extrusion, winding, and slitting equipment.

The job involves:

• Operating and setup of extrusion machinery safely, efficiently with good quality
• Start-up of production lines (extruders, winders, packaging)
• Operation of the resin material feeding system
• Operation of auxiliary equipment (e.g., heating/cooling units, grinders)
• Changing tapes manually, fabric master rolls with cranes
• Shutdown of production line (setting of cool-down temperatures on extruders, etc.)
• Operation of the thickness profile scanner and extrusion die
• Operation of a highly automated slitter machine and winder
• Other duties as assigned by the shift Team Leader

Qualifications:

• Experience in plastics extrusion, automation equipment, or a suitable technical background and experience with production equipment in the Plastics/ Automotive industry is highly desired.
• Experience with lift truck and/or overhead crane operation is desired.
• Secondary school graduate preferred (e.g., high school diploma)
• Prior leadership/supervisory experience an asset

Working Conditions:

• Shift work in a 24h/7d production environment
• Shifts are two weeks 7am-7pm shifts, two weeks 7pm-7am shifts
• Shift premium available for nights shifts (7pm-7am)
