Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions in Canada is seeking a hands-on technician to support extrusion operations. You will set up and troubleshoot machines, monitor quality and manage materials to keep production flowing.

Qualifications

• Sound troubleshooting skills with a strong mechanical background.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and related techniques for maximizing manufacturing and distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repairs and maintenance.
• Must be a certified forklift operator, or willing to achieve certification.
• Understanding of injection molding and plastics processing.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment; self-motivated; able to work without supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail.
• Shift flexibility, with the ability to work overtime; 12-hour continental and 8-hour shifts if required.

Responsibilities

• Be able to set up, troubleshoot and make minor changes to machines.
• Monitor quality / complete quality reports.
• Process incoming and in-house materials, as required.
• Organize and maintain the extrusion work area, including storage areas for staged and surplus product waiting to be ground.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including the extruder machines and ancillary equipment.
• Material handling.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment through compliance to H & S policies.
• Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices.
