Job description

Shift Schedule - Monday to Friday, Full Time, Morning Shift

Pay Rate - $25.00 an hour

The Canadian Distribution Centre (CAN DC) manages the dispatch, receipt, and inventory of goods for the Canadian market. This role may be assigned to support key functions including dispatch, receiving, and inventory control tasks.

The primary responsibility of the Team Lead is to coordinate labor and workflow within the Inventory Control department. This flexible role may rotate into various areas, particularly within Inventory Control, to support workload distribution, resolve inventory discrepancies, and other inventory management tasks. Tasks involve tools and equipment such as scanners, computers, pallet jacks, plastic wrap, and walk riders (with certification).

This position may oversee or assist in different departments within the CAN DC, with duties varying based on operational needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES


Department Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assist with staff scheduling and oversight in the Inventory Control Department
  • Manage daily cycle counts, report, and resolve discrepancies
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues from Processing Department to meet shipment deadlines
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies, including shortages, mispacks, and misplacements
  • Plan and execute DC Slotting and re-slotting as needed
  • Oversee internal audits for accuracy and timeliness per standards
  • Review and resolve filter report issues promptly
  • Communicate perpetual inventory issues to Management and Allocations team
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and share data weekly with DC management
  • Analyze DC utilization & SKU profile reports and suggest improvements
  • Develop and maintain efficient work processes complying with OHS regulations
  • Manage shared tools and assign labor to meet operational needs
  • Serve as backup for other functional areas (Returns) as required

Core Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate daily team operations and delegate tasks based on volume and priorities
  • Support, coach, and train team members for performance and development
  • Lead pre-shift meetings, shift hand-offs, and routines
  • Monitor productivity and compliance with standards, KPIs, and safety protocols
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align workflow and priorities
  • Maintain professional communication, clear reporting, and accurate records
  • Uphold safety, cleanliness, and equipment care standards
  • Promote a fair, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform Equipment Operator duties as required
  • Other tasks as deemed suitable by supervisors based on knowledge and experience
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in a logistics environment
  • Substantial Team Lead experience
  • Knowledge of H&S and safe work practices
  • Understanding of INBOUND - OUTBOUND logistics flow
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and MS Power BI
  • Experience with WMS and RF scanners
  • Proven people management skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • OFA Level 2 certification or willingness to obtain
  • Valid MHE Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Flexibility during key operational times
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to stand and walk. Frequently reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and operate MHEs (if certified).
