Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is hiring an Inventory Supervisor for our Montreal East, Quebec site. This permanent, day-shift role reports to the inventory supervisor and oversees daily store operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping of materials.

You will guide the inventory clerks, ensure safety and adherence to procedures, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate holds a DEC/AEC/DEP or equivalent and has 3–5 years in a supervisory role within

Qualifications

• Fluent in French and English, both verbal and written.
• Experience leading a warehouse/inventory team.
• Strong focus on accuracy and safety in storage and handling.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily tasks of inventory staff, including receiving, storage and shipping.
• Lead training and coaching for new employees.
• Communicate objectives and performance metrics to the team.
• Conduct OSH follow-ups and ensure PPE availability.
• Ensure proper receipt and distribution of products per procedures.
• Be the point of contact for urgent requests and cycle counts.
• Maintain order, cleanliness and participate in continuous improvement.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a motivated individual to join our team at ourMontreal East(Quebec) site. This i s a permanent position fromMonday through Friday, day shift.Reporting to the inventory supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating daily store operations, including inventory management, receiving, and shipping materials. You will be expected to actively participate in tasks with the inventory clerks (your team) while ensuring that the tasks performed by your team are carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with procedures.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Coordinate the daily tasks of inventory clerks while ensuring the integration, training, and coaching of new employees
• Communicate organizational objectives and performance indicators to your team
• Participate in performance evaluation and disciplinary management processes
• Conduct OHS follow-ups on the application of rules and assess employees' needs for personal protective equipment
• Ensure that the receipt, storage, and distribution of products and spare parts are carried out in accordance with procedures
• Be the point of contact for urgent requests
• Participate with the team in cyclical inventory counts
• Maintain order and cleanliness in stores and workplaces
• Be actively involved in continuous improvement projects related to stores and inventory
• Replace team members as needed

Qualifications

To join our team:

• Hold aDEC, AEC, or DEPandhave 3 to 5 years of experiencein a supervisory role in an industrial, operational, or warehousing environment
• Have experience in inventory management and validation
• Communicate effectively in French and English, both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrate strong decision-making, coordination, organizational, and team supervision skills
• Be able to manage multiple files simultaneously and meet multiple deadlines
• Have a strong focus on quality and service
• Be comfortable with technology and computer tools
• Be able to use analysis reports and quickly assimilate new information
• Experience in forklift operation is an asset
