Job description

Location: London, Ontario
Position Type: Management; Full-time, On-site (Registered Psychotherapists, Social Workers, Psychologists)

Make your next leadership-focused career move

What if your next career move gave you more influence, more collaboration, and more support? Whether you’ve been in agency life or private practice, you’ve felt the limits of your current role. At InnerWorks Counselling, you’ll have the chance to lead, innovate, and work alongside a team that values your voice.

This is a full-time, on-site position in London, Ontario.

Who We Are

InnerWorks Counselling is not your typical psychotherapy practice. We are a collaborative, growth-focused practice. Our therapists are full time employees with salaries, benefits, and paid time off. This is part of our commitment to help our team members build a career at InnerWorks.

At InnerWorks, we help families connect and thrive in a world full of distraction and busyness. In addition to therapy sessions, we make a difference in the lives of families through group therapy, social skills groups, Executive Functioning coaching, the Safe & Sound Protocol, and parenting support & education.

Our team believes that when we provide a collaborative approach to care, our clients see substantial and lasting change.

Our Values

Excellence: Go Above and Beyond. We strive for continuous improvement, take initiative, and always aim to exceed expectations. We want every client to feel the quality of care we bring to each session.

Innovation: Do it Differently. We disrupt traditional mental health practices by embracing creative, out-of-the-box approaches to better serve our clients and the community.

Team Players: Be a Giver. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. Our team works together to support both clients and one another, fostering a sense of community, growth, and shared success.

Our culture is supportive, innovative, and energizing. We’re looking for a leader who wants to join us.

What You’ll Do

As a Team Lead, you’ll have a unique balance of leadership and clinical work:

Lead Your Team

Supervise and mentor up to 8 therapists, students, and postgraduate fellows.

Host 1:1 check-ins, give feedback, and help your team hit their goals.

Hold team members accountable while modeling InnerWorks’ values.

Monitor clinical quality through regular audits and reviews.

Build a culture where therapists thrive, grow, and stay.

Shape Our Future

Participate in leadership meetings, quarterly planning, and company vision execution.

Oversee a program area, contributing directly to InnerWorks’ growth and innovation.

Continue Clinical Work (Reduced Caseload)

Maintain 16 client hours/week (compared to 22 for therapists).

Focus on the clients and modalities you do best.

What We’re Looking For

We want a leader who’s ready to leave solo practice behind and step into a role where they can truly make an impact.

Must-Haves:

Master’s degree (or higher) in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

5+ years post-master’s clinical experience.

Meets CRPO’s criteria for providing clinical supervision.

Current registration with a governing body in Ontario (OCSWSSW, CRPO, or College of Psychologists of Ontario).

Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain).

Leadership potential: strong communicator, problem-solver, and coaching mindset.

Strong technical skills (we use a lot of tech!)

Availability 30-32 hours/week, including some evenings/weekends.

Nice-to-Have:

Expertise in perinatal mental health, autism, couples therapy, or other specialized modalities.

Interest in program development and innovative approaches.

Why Join InnerWorks?

At InnerWorks, you get the best of both worlds- autonomy in your work and the support of a collaborative team.

If you’ve worked in an agency, you’ll appreciate leading without bureaucracy or office politics. If you’ve run your own practice, you’ll value leaving the marketing, admin, and business management to us so you can focus on therapy and leadership.

Work in a culture built on trust, respect, and shared success

Lead with influence and have a seat at the decision-making table

Enjoy a smaller caseload so you can focus on your team

Access professional development and leadership training funded by the clinic

Be part of a leadership team that supports and challenges each other to grow

Whether you want freedom from red tape or relief from the isolation of solo practice, InnerWorks offers a place where you can thrive as a leader and a therapist.

Full-time salary with performance-based bonuses.

Bonuses starting at $1250/quarter (based on performance)

Healthcare spending account ($1,500/year)

3 weeks paid vacation + 5 sick days

Clinical supervision, PD funding, and leadership development support

Our Hiring Process

Values & Culture Fit Interview: We share a detailed description of what it’s like to work at InnerWorks. Then we’ll explore your chemistry with our current Leadership Team and your vision for leading a team.

Leadership & Clinical Interview: We focus on clinical and supervision skills, including case conceptualization.

Final Interview with Leadership Team: If we feel it’s needed, we’ll have another interview with our entire Leadership Team. It’s important that this is the right fit for you and for us, so we take our time with this process!

AI Disclosure:

We hire carefully because our culture matters. If you’re ready to step into leadership and grow your career, we’d love to hear from you.
