Job summary

Ontario Health atHome is seeking a Full Time Team Assistant to support the assigned team in daily activities and ensure patients receive prompt, effective customer service. You will input and maintain patient data, handle referrals and communications, and assist with confidential records in a busy health care setting.

Qualifications

  • College diploma in health or social services, or business/office administration is required.
  • Minimum 2+ years of related office experience.
  • Accurate keyboarding and data-entry skills.
  • Proficient with database software, MS Word and Excel in Windows.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule including days, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to Care Coordinators.
  • Process new referrals and service orders.
  • Manage confidential patient records.
  • Enter and maintain high-volume patient data in the electronic system.
  • Handle high volume of telephone inquiries from patients and service providers.
  • Provide backup support to other roles as needed.

As a Full Time Team Assistant, you will provide support for the assigned team in their daily activities to ensure that patients receive prompt, effective customer service.

What will you do?
  • Provide administrative support services to Care Coordinators
  • Process new referrals, and orders for services, supplies and equipment
  • Process and assist in managing confidential patient records
  • Enter, update and maintain a high volume of patient data in the electronic database
  • Answer a high volume of telephone inquiries from patients, families and service providers, and refer callers as appropriate
  • Provide back-up support to other positions, as required
What must you have?
  • A college diploma in the health or social services, or business/office administration
  • 2+ years’ related office experience
  • Accurate keyboarding/data-entry skills
  • Proficient with database software, MS Word and Excel, and other applications in a Windows environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Advanced multi-tasking skills, with the ability to meet performance and service goals
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team and interact tactfully and sensitively with patients from wide-ranging cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong listening skills
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes days, evenings and weekends to meet organizational needs
  • We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination status prior to start date

  • Annual Salary: $46,375.41 to $55,257.52
