About Qualicum School District
Qualicum School District is located on east Vancouver Island, covering Nanoose Bay to Bowser, from Errington across the Strait of Georgia to Lasqueti Island. We serve approximately 4,700 students across eight elementary schools (Grades K-7), two secondary schools (Grades 8-12), an alternate school (PASS / Woodwinds), and a Distributed Learning program called the Collaborative Education Alternative Program (CEAP) for home-learning families. False Bay School on Lasqueti Island operates entirely off-grid with a recently completed large solar project. Our district collaborates with various community organizations to enrich educational programs. The area's natural beauty, beaches, mild climate, and small-town charm make it a popular tourist destination and an attractive place to build a career.
We are seeking highly skilled and dynamic educators to join our Teachers Teaching on Call pool. Our TTOCs enjoy working in a vibrant, growing district with ongoing employment opportunities. We welcome applications from generalists and specialists, including those in French Immersion, Technical Education, Science & Mathematics, and Learning Assistance, who demonstrate current practice, excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a solid understanding of the BC curriculum. Preference will be given to candidates capable of teaching in diverse settings and who are available full-time. Teacher candidates graduating no later than December 2024 are eligible to apply.
